Abdulla Pathan is a multidisciplinary artist and educator with over 15 years of experience working across sculpture, painting, and digital media. Rooted in material exploration and conceptual depth, their practice bridges traditional techniques with contemporary approaches to form and space.
He holds a Master of Visual Arts (Painting) from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, where he graduated with first rank, and a five-year specialization in sculpture from Shanthinikethan School of Art, Chickmaglur. His early work involved creating murals and sculptural installations for interior and architectural spaces, blending craftsmanship with spatial design.
In parallel, Abdulla has taught fine arts for over eight years, focusing on the use of digital tools in contemporary photographic practices. As a curator at DWIJA – Conservation Society of Art & Cultural Heritage and visiting lecturer at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, he is committed to both artistic practice and education.
His works have been exhibited at leading institutions such as the Lalit Kala Akademi (New Delhi), Jehangir Art Gallery (Mumbai), and Nehru Centre (Mumbai), among others. Recognitions include two National Exhibition selections by Lalit Kala Akademi (2014, 2023) and the Vasudev Arnavaz Scholarship.
Abdulla’s work is an ongoing exploration of identity, material, and memory—tactile yet thoughtful, rooted yet experimental.
