The divine symbol of the trishula or the trident of Lord Shiva is at the centre of this painting, boldly in black. As ‘adiyogi’ or the ‘first yogi’, he is the first to achieve a transcendental state of consciousness. The artist believes that we can all achieve this state, but only through meditation. He depicts this meditative state in the spiral of colours that appears in the background.
